WinterHaven Custom Builders, Inc. is a general contracting company operating in Bethel, Maine. Launched in 2019, we specialize in the design and construction of air-tight, energy efficient, luxurious residential buildings that deliver long term comfort for occupants while consuming substantially less energy than standard residential construction.
Energy efficiency, comfort, and livability are, in our view, essential elements in every project. With over 40 years of combined experience, we are confident leading clients through all aspects of the home design and development process to attain these goals.
While building performance is at the core of our projects, development and installation of custom interior finishes is our primary passion. Our team thoroughly enjoys the creative and technical elements of seamlessly integrating a wide variety of materials and finishes to develop beautiful, expertly crafted interiors. A formal partnership with Wentworth Custom Woodworking also allows us to deliver exquisite, fully custom cabinetry for our projects.

Our Process
We engage our clients at any level of the design process and expertly guide them through the development of each project with services ranging from pre-build site development to final cleaning and furniture set up. We know there are a myriad of decisions that go into every project. Our intention is to provide the knowledge and expertise to make those choices easier, while achieving the best outcome for each project and budget.
All our projects will feature an air sealed, highly insulated, energy-efficient shell with a mechanical ventilation system to maintain high quality indoor air. To achieve this end, we have extensive experience integrating a multitude of technologies into homes, including but not limited to: energy and heat delivery systems, insulation and ventilation packages, traditional framing and timber construction, air conditioning and water treatment equipment, and smart home and remote interaction technologies.
Once the formal design process is underway, WinterHaven Custom Builders, Inc. is able to subcontract and coordinate all aspects of the construction project including pre-construction site development and surveying work, engineering services and evaluation of means and methods of construction, and final build. Our own team of highly skilled craftsmen will deliver the exterior and interior carpentry services to include custom detail and material, and we collaborate with an experienced team of subcontractors to install premium mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
Do you live far away? Not to worry. Many of our clients live remotely and are unable to engage in the construction process on a regular basis. We commit to maintaining their connection and involvement in the process with regular communication, updates and progress photographs through the BuilderTrend software platform.
